The deputies Mariana Vârgă, Rodica Popleanu and Laurențiu Făget announced today in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies that they leave the SOS Romania parliamentary group.

After the parliamentary elections of December 1, 2024, SOS had 27 deputies and 11 senators. Currently, Diana Şoșoaca's party has only 17 deputies and 9 senators, according to the information on the website of the Chamber of Deputies and on the Senate website.

In the plenary session in which he announced his resignation, the deputy Mariana Vârgă stated that he cannot remain in the party led by Diana Şoșoaca as this glorifies legionaries and has little positions.

Wave of departures

On June 2, four deputies elected on the party lists led by Diana Şoșoaca left the formation and announced that they will be affiliated with the PSD parliamentary group.

In addition to departures, there were exclusions. On June 21, the management of the SOS Romania party decided to exclude from the party the senators Rodica Cuşnir and Adrian Peiu, following the initiative to create in the Parliament a sovereign pole with European visions, called “first Romania”,

After the group can dissolve, and the senators in the party led by Anamaria Gavrilă remained non-affiliated, some of the parliamentarians of the young people joined the deputies and senators of SOS Romania and formed the parliamentary alliance “before Romania”. At this moment, 30 -35 parliamentarians are part of the Alliance.
