It is possible that the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski will take part in some way in the meeting of the US President Donald Trump with the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, planned for Friday, said BBC on Saturday, citing the American CBS News station.
The high -ranking White House official said in an interview with CBS News that the plans for the Friday peak in Alaska are smooth and there is still a chance that Zelanski could somehow be involved in this event.
The station reminded that at the beginning of the week the White House announced that the US President was open to a meeting with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. On Friday, Trump said that he would talk to Putin first. During the meeting with journalists, he also expressed the hope that there would be a chance to organize three -sided conversations.
One of the topics of conversations, which is to be raised during the meeting on August 15, will be the conclusion of a potential peace agreement in Ukraine, with which the need to “exchange territories”, as Trump, described.
President Zelanski criticized the plans of Trump's meeting with Putin, warning that any peace agreement with the support of Ukraine will be a “dead solution.” He added that “Ukrainians would not give their land to the occupier.”
The peak in Alaska can be Putin's first face to face with the American leader since the meeting with the former president Joe Biden in June 2021 in Switzerland, eight months before the start of the full -band invasion of Ukraine.
