It comes, among others on excluding sex and racial criteria in recruitment of students and a limit of the number of foreigners at universities.

As “WSJ” said, nine universities received letters, both private and public, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Browna University, Pennsylvania University and the University of Virginia. The administration proposal consists in signing a 10-page “Agreement for academic perfection in higher education”, obliging universities to introduce a number of reforms preferred by Trump in exchange for access to state funds.

According to the AP agency, among the liabilities listed in the list are: refraining from using racial and sexual criteria in student recruitment, limiting the number of foreign students to 15 percent. all students, freezing the height of the tuition fee for American students for five years, using the definition of sex introduced by the White House in the context of school bathrooms, cloakrooms and university sports, Promoting a wide spectrum of views on campuses and the liquidation of units that “intentionally punish, ridicule and even encourage violence against conservative ideas.”

As the agency said the White House official, although the letter talks about preferential access to federal funds for schools that sign the commitment, as a result only these schools will be able to count on state grants. Similar letters are to receive more universities.

This is the next step of Trump's administration to force the universities to introduce the ideological and other changes she desired. The White House attempted to pick up the grants of part of the university, announced the initiation of anti -Semitism investigations on campuses and tried to take away the opportunity to accept students from abroad.

The main purpose of these activities was the Harvard University, who effectively appealed many of these actions to court. Trump said on Tuesday that he was close to a settlement with this university; According to this settlement, Harvard would invest $ 500 million in the creation of a vocational school network, and in exchange his “sins will be forgiven.”

Earlier, other schools went to the Trump administration: Pennsylvania University, Columbia and Brown.
