peace agreement in the White House

The declaration is to be the result of intensive diplomatic activities of the Donald Trump administration. As the spokeswoman for the White House, Anna Kelly, the President of the USA, emphasized, managed to achieve something that his predecessors, including Joe Biden, did not succeed. ” During the briefing, Kelly drew attention to huge losses that the war in the last 35 years inflicted to both nations.

Appeal to the OSCE
The planned agreement, however, is not limited to the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia. As part of the declaration, the leaders of both countries will make a joint appeal to the OSCE to dissolve the Minsk Group, which since 1992 was to mediate in conflict, but – as US representatives indicate – its role became outdated. Working groups will start immediate activities over the implementation of the provisions of the agreement, and the anticipated effects may change the economic face of the region. “To releases the potential of the South Caucasus in the sphere of trade, transit and energy” – emphasized the spokeswoman.
Donald Trump together with the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan will also sign separate contracts with each of the countries. Their goal will be to deepen economic and technological cooperation, investments in infrastructure and security of borders, as well as stimulation of trade. During the briefing, the administration representative also pointed to the geopolitical importance of these activities: “This is an area that for years remained under the influence of Russian domination. Now, under this agreement, the region will approach the West.” On this occasion, there were no indications who would lose in these changes. “China, Russia and Iran are losers,” said the clerk.
End of many years of conflict?
The signing of an agreement in the White House is to take place at 20.30 Polish time. It is the culmination of the works started in March 2025, when the Ministry of Foreign Ministry of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed the details of the document. The conflict between these countries has been going on since the early 1990s – the time they gain independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The reason for disputes, in addition to the long -term historical past, are ethnic and geographical issues related to the distribution of the Armenian and Azeri population.
A special symbol was Górski Karabach, a region formally located within Azerbaijan, but inhabited by the Armenian population. After the Azer Voivodeship in the years 2020 and 2023, the region was under full control of Baku, thus ending the long -term unrecognized administration supported by Armenia. The peace agreement is the first attempt to end the post conflict in the region from the beginning of the 1990s.
According to American administration reports, the “Trump Trail” project has already attracted the interest of nine global companies. “It is an entity in which it is worth investing, not a single, charity initiative,” said one of the representatives of Trump's administration. The trail is to become the beginning of new economic perspectives for the entire region.
As another official summed up, the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is “the first end of the frozen conflict of Posowiecki since the Cold War.”
