Moscow's forces launched a new attack on Tuesday night to Wednesday targeting the Odessa region. Residents from Braila and Galați published images of huge flames that illuminated the sky they say are from the area of Ukrainian Orlovca, the Odessa region, over the Danube by the city of Tulcea Isaccea.
Residents from Brăila municipality, but also from the neighboring localization immortalized the strong explosions, according to Braila.
The local publication has received video images from readers in which there are strong lights from explosions. Witnesses told that bumps were heard.
Isaccea is located on the Romanian bank of the Danube, and Orlovca is located on the Ukrainian shore, at a short distance, less than a kilometer, over the river.
The previous local publication reports that it is the first time from the beginning of the war when a Russian attack is visible from Braila. A witness says while filming the sky that he has never seen such a thing.
The possible target of the Russians is a gas bus that Ukraine uses to supplement the needs of the population and industry, after breaking the connection with the Russian Gazprom giant.
At the end of July, the Naftogaz State Energy Company in Ukraine announced that it had signed its first agreement with the Socar group in Azerbaijan to import natural gas in the Transbganic corridor, according to Reuters. The energy from the Caspian Sea area is brought to this route, via Turkey and Bulgaria, from where Ukraine and Moldova can be fed, writes Economia.
The governor of the Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, transmitted at least three air raid alerts on his Telegram channel during the night.
From the first information, according to Ukrainian Telegram channels, the Russians used over 25 drones during the attack, targeting several localities in the Odessa region.
And Radu Hossu, a Romanian volunteer decorated by President Volodimir Zelenski, who constantly writes about the Romanian border war, reported on the magnitude attack in the Isaccea area on his Facebook page. Several followers have published in the comment section of posting video or photo images, which said that areas of Braila, Tulcea or Galați were made.
Photographer Florin Băcanu published a picture taken with the help of a drone around 2 in the morning with the message “This is the sky now from Braila, from a height of 120 m”. He reported on his Facebook page that “there are some strong bumps in Braila”.
And other locals have published pictures.
