“Large -scale” corruption was detected when buying drones

The Ukrainian anti -corruption bodies of NAB and SAP, as well as the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelnski announced on Saturday about the detection of a large -scale corruption when buying drones and electronic equipment. It was involved in the procedure one of the MPs to the Ukrainian parliament.



The president wrote about it on his channel in the Telegram messenger after meeting with the director of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAB) Semen Krywonos and the head of the Special Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) Oleksandr Kłymenyk.
As Zelanski emphasized, “there can only be zero tolerance for corruption”, and anti -corruption institutions should act independently. “I am grateful to anti -corruption authorities for their work,” he added.
According to SAP, the procedure consisted in concluding state contracts with suppliers at inflated prices, and up to 30 percent. The contract amounts returned to criminals in the form of bribes.
The anti-corruption bodies cited by the Interfax-Ukraina agency announced the detention of a deputy to the Ukrainian Parliament, as well as the heads of the district and municipal military civil administration and national guard soldiers.
Although the names responsible for the procedure were not given, according to the Ukrainian media, it is about the deputy from the party “Servant of the Nation” by Oleksij Kuzniecowa.

The European Commission and the G7 countries warned that such interference in the independence of anti -corruption institutions is a step back in reforms and may threaten further financial assistance for Ukraine.
