Dozens of families in Brasov receive water on the 5-day gas pipe: a neighbor tried to mount his own thermal power plant
The tenant of a block in Brasov tried to mount a new thermal power plant alone and would have confused the water and gas connections. Following the incident, about 70 families from a five-staircase in the Civic Center remained on Wednesday, July 30, without hot water and without the possibility of using the stove.

The residents of the staircase noticed Wednesday that the gas supply was interrupted. A crew from Distrigaz was asked to intervene, and the suspicions quickly headed to an apartment on the 4th floor, where the neighbors suspected that the tenant had tried to mount their power plant alone, according to BIZ Brasov.
After checks, the gas company's employee drafted a report and decoupled the entire block on the network.
Subsequently, a private company specialized in gas installations, which began to disassemble the meters, was called. To everyone's surprise, water began to flow from several counters.
Neighbors tell that the man on the 4th floor would have misplaced the pipes from the new power plant, coupling the water pipe at the gas entrance. Although it seems impossible due to the difference in diameters and thread, the gas network was contaminated with water, and several meters have been damaged.
The installation company started the remedial work, but the tenants accuse the lack of communication. It is not known exactly what happened, how much the repairs will last or when the gas supply will be resumed. Until then, those affected are forced to wash with cold water and do without the possibility of cooking.
Distrigaz representatives said that the gas supply will be resumed only after the repairs are completed and the installation is complete.
