As Wirtualnemedia.pl writes, since the end of 2023, Telewizja Republika has been conducting an intensive campaign asking for financial support for viewers – bank account numbers and QR codes are presented almost without interruption. From January, PLN 5.5 million was collected for a transmission car, and soon a collection of 500,000 began. PLN for the transmission of the swearing -in of President Elekt Karol Nawrocki.
The effects of these activities are visible in the station's financial statements for 2024: Donation revenues amounted to PLN 34.53 million (compared to 4.2 million a year earlier), and advertising revenues – PLN 39.12 million. These total revenues allowed to cover PLN 71.6 million of operating costs.
The Foundation invests
The foundation did not limit itself to supporting the Republic only by promoting donations. In 2024, he allocated PLN 41.53 million to “support and promote media independence”as well as PLN 14.81 million to promote public debate and PLN 211.2 thousand. Last year, the Foundation also invested PLN 6.5 million in the purchase of shares (some were sold for PLN 3.2 million, some were transferred as a donation). According to court files, Telewizja Republika was recapitalized at the beginning of 2024 by PLN 3 million – after a million zlotys the foundation and companies publishing “Gazeta Polska” and Niezalezna.pl.
A significant increase in revenues meant that the Independent Media Foundation paid PLN 1.25 million to the state budget (a year earlier – PLN 27.3 thousand). The foundation's operating profit increased from PLN 1.32 million to PLN 2.71 million, and net profit amounted to PLN 1.46 million. It was intended to cover earlier losses and statutory goals. At the end of 2024, the foundation's own fund was PLN 3.36 million.
As Wirtualnemedia.pl writes, for comparison, the Lux Veritatis Foundation, supporting Television Trwam, in 2024 obtained PLN 40.58 million from donations – most from 2021, when it reached PLN 43.97 million. A year earlier, revenues in this respect amounted to PLN 31.84 million, in 2022 – PLN 38.46 million.
