At the same time, I want to emphasize: this is not the end of the process. For Ukraine, constant efforts are needed to ensure effective struggle with corruption and compliance with the principles of the rule of law. We expect that Ukraine will quickly fulfill these obligations. We continue to carefully monitor this. We remain open to the support of Ukraine in this process, ”said the representative of the EC.
Mercier also said that the EU does not plan to stop financing Ukraine.
“Nothing will be frozen, contrary to the fears that many Ukrainian media and politicians expressed. There are no plans to freeze the financing of Ukraine by the EU. Now it is important that Ukraine has independent anti -corruption bodies and introduces the necessary reforms to comply with the principles of the rule of law,” he said.
Rada adopted a bill on the restoration of the independence of the anti -corruption bodies this afternoon, according to the People’s Deputy from the Voice party Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 331 People’s Deputy voted for the bill – no one abstained and voted against.
After that, he was signed by the speaker of the parliament Ruslaien Stefanchuk and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

On July 29, the European Union for diplomatic channels transferred a warning about the consequences if the parliament does not return independence to the anti -corruption bodies. As the European Pravda wrote, Brussels then notified Kyiv that that “suspend the allocation of all financial assistance to Ukraine.” One of the sources added that “everything was put on a pause until the situation is corrected.”
