Tragedy in gas. People die not only from bombs, but also from hunger. Food costs a lot

Israel intensified the media offensive, blaming the UN for lack of help to the Gaza Strip. According to experts, Israel is blocking the distribution, and the charges against the UN are unfounded. – A kilo of sugar costs $ 150 This is not humanitarian aid, it is a struggle for survival – Dr. Bassam told Gaza.

In video materials published in social media, including with a teacher speaking in Polish, there is a claim that the UN refuses to distribute food, despite the entry of hundreds of trucks to gauze. “This is a deliberate UN sabotage,” says the inscription at one of the recordings, made available by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli embassy in Poland.
– Currently in Gaza there is chaos and there are no conditions for safe distribution of the content of these trucks – the war correspondent and the Middle East analyst, Witold Repetowicz, said in an interview with PAP.
The expert emphasized that until March, before Israel blocked regular transports, the UN provided assistance in an organized manner. Currently, in his opinion, Israeli humanitarian actions are farce, and UN agencies do not want to participate in the distribution conducted in conditions threatening civilians.
The repetition refers to the activities of the Israeli-American assistance organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), whose civilian employees are equipped with long weapons with acute ammunition and almost every day open fire to the crowd. The UN refuses to cooperate with GHF. Near the GHF distribution points, almost a thousand people have been killed in the vicinity of the food distribution points, mainly GHF, who tried to receive help. The Israeli daily “Haarec” determined that also Israeli soldiers receive orders to shoot Palestinians waiting for food, although they are not armed or aggressive.
Poland for helping Palestinians. The government will increase subsidies for UN agencies
The Foreign Affairs spokesman Paweł Wroński announced on Wednesday that Poland declared increased help for UN agency, which supports Palestinians; Additional funds are to amount to one million dollars. Wroński added that in 2024 Poland allocated PLN 17.6 million to Palestinian to help Palestinians.
– If people died by the UN died, responsibility for their death would be buried at the UN, which would result in a complete decrease in trust in this organization – emphasized the repet.
The UN warned …
In a statement at the end of July, the UN warned that deliveries remain blocked by administrative barriers, destroyed infrastructure and lack of security for humanitarian workers.
The former US humanitarian envoy in the Gaza Strip David Satterfield assessed in an interview with the Times of Israel portal that Israel's accusations against the UN are false. “It is not true that the UN or other organizations intentionally stop the distribution of help. The problem is the conditions created by Israel, which prevent the safe supply of food and medicine,” explained Satterfield.
According to the internal analyzes of the American government, as well as anonymously transferred to the media, military findings, There is also no evidence for regular assumption of help by Hamas – which is raised by the Israeli side. Although there were such cases, they were not systemic.
Similarly, the situation is described by Dr. Bassam Zakut, director of the Palestinians Medical Relief Society in the Gaza Strip, a partner organization of the Polish Humanitarian Action. In an interview with PAP, he explained that currently GHF's help goes to limited quantities to selected points, which must be reached several kilometers on foot. Near the distribution points, there is almost always violence and chaos from this reason, according to Dr. Zakut, “only young and strong people, maybe 20 percent of the Gaza population, are able to fight and get any food, and the remaining 80 percent do not receive any help.”
Help for gauze flows, but it is blocked
Juliette Tuma, director of communication at the United Nations Agency for helping Palestinian refugees (Unrwa), whose six thousand trucks got stuck since March in Egypt and Jordan, in an interview with PAP she said that “there were announcements of the creation of humanitarian corridors and alleviating the restrictions, but nothing changes in place (…).
– Despite the announcement of the Israeli army, people are still dying, If not as a result of bombing, it's hungry – she emphasized.
Palestinian desperation can also be seen from space – Satellite photos published on Tuesday show Thousands of people surrounding at least a dozen trucks With humanitarian aid near Chan Junus. The queue of people stretches over a length of two kilometers, and the whole scene corresponds to similar recordings from the land published by Palestinian media, verified, among others by BBC.
Dr. Zakut did not hide that chaos at distribution points leads to violence and looting. – People are fighting among themselves for packages with food, and some make trade. A kilo of sugar now costs $ 150. This is not a humanitarian aid system, it is a struggle for survival – said the doctor. – We buy simple things and eat once a day. As a health care worker, I get a portion of warm rice every day, which I share with my family – he added.
His relations are confirmed by the global food program (WFP), warning that hunger in gas reached the level of “the worst script”. The BBC reports that 9 out of 10 families regularly report a lack of food, many people search the garbage cans in search of anything to eat, and some women are forced to prostictine for food.
Tuma explained that hunger in gas results not only from a lack of food, but also from bad living conditions, lack of clean water, insufficient hygiene and weakened immune system, which is directly related to stress and trauma.
– Even our employees who work in gas and receive salaries, and therefore have money for shopping, are not able to find food. One of them fainted last week during his duties because he was exhausted, hungry and dehydrated, “Tuma said.
According to Repetowicz, recordings published by the Israeli authorities have a propaganda dimension. Dr. Zakut believes that hindering access to Gaza's help is part of the Israeli plan. Maintaining chaos, lack of safe routes for convoys, creating a culture of violence around trucks with help – they are aimed at introducing ethnic purge and forcing Palestinians to evacuate from the Gaza Strip.
“We can't all wait and fight for a few packages with food, so if the possibility of evacuation appears, we will accept it because we have no other options,” he said.
Satterfield estimates that You need at least 350 aid trucks a daywhile from May to July on average around 70. Israel, under international pressure, allowed greater deliveries and air help, which, however, are expensive, inefficient and potentially dangerous.
Help help from the air?
The Belgian A400M aircraft will soon set off to Amman with a load of food and medical equipment worth about 600 thousand. euro. As announced, the machine will take part in drop operations, but their exact date and details are not yet known – first the reserves of help already in Jordan will be allocated.
“These screenshots are a gesture of solidarity, but they cannot be a smoke veil to the urgent need to unblock land access,” said Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot. He added that road transport remains an “absolute priority due to the safety, effectiveness and scale of needs.”
Earlier, the Belgian Foreign Affairs Committee announced that it would be urgently convened to an extraordinary meeting, devoted to possible actions against Israel and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The chairwoman of the ELS Van Hoof committee emphasized that the goal is to “stop the dramatic and hopeless situation of Palestinians.”
The Social Democratic Party Vooruit, which is part of the ruling coalition, also demands the convening of the Council of Ministers in August. The leader of the Conner Rousseau grouping stated that his party expects “strong condemnation of the genocide that is taking place there.”
Prime Minister Bart de Wever from the new Flemish alliance (N-VA) announced on Tuesday that Belgium received Jordan's consent to participate in the surgery. At the same time, he noted that if Israel does not guarantee safe provision of help, the government “does not exclude further funds or sanctions.”
Propaganda in strength
In mid -July, the most popular information portal in Israel, Ynet, published calming materials regarding the improvement of food distribution in the Gaza Strip, a photo of laughing Palestinian children. It was emphasized that “the Ministry of Defense is considering further modernization of four food distribution centers in the Gaza Strip, where chocolates and cakes were also distributed,” but the problem is that “about 600,000 Gaza residents who receive free food, are not checked, and each of them can be a terrorist from Hamas.”
Last week, materials directly describing the cases of hunger death and malnutrition in gas, also quoting previously ignored Western media relationships, also began to regularly appear in the largest Israeli media.
From April, hospitals in the Gaza Strip treated over 20,000 Children because of acute malnutrition. From mid -July, at least 16 children under the age of five died for reasons related to hunger. In total, the number of victims has exceeded 60,000 since the outbreak of the war. (PAP)
