The District Prosecutor's Office in Krasnystaw (Lublin Voivodeship) submitted an indictment to the court regarding the extortion of mobile phones from operators. The equipment was worth over PLN 430,000. zloty. The main defendant, Łukasz J., faces up to 12 years in prison. The remaining defendants will be tried in court for stolen goods.


The spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość, Rafał Kawalec, announced the indictment. The main defendant, 23-year-old resident of Lublin, Łukasz J., was charged with 108 counts of fraud related to extorting mobile phones from telecommunications operators from August 2024 to February 2025.
Meanwhile, investigators charged 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen Bohdan K. and 26-year-old Ukrainian Karyna P. with stolen goods. According to the findings, the man bought 55 mobile phones from Łukasz J. The woman was supposed to buy one such device.
According to the prosecutor's office findings the main defendant helped his mother run an accounting office and thus gained access to the personal data of future victims in the case. Using this information, he concluded contracts for the purchase of mainly expensive mobile phones. When placing an order, he provided specially created e-mail addresses for contact. He also indicated fictitious pickup addresses in Świdnik and Lublin.
– On the day of delivery of the parcel, he contacted the courier by phone, then drove up to him, paid the first installment for the above items and forged the victims' signature on the contract – described prosecutor Kawalec.
He later sold the phones in Warsaw to Bohdan K., who sent them to Ukraine, where they were sold by his cousin.
Investigators determined that the victims lost over PLN 430,000 as a result of this fraud. zloty. The suspects pleaded guilty to the charges. They are currently at large.
The main accused faces up to 12 years in prison. The rest accused of receiving stolen goods received up to two years in prison. (PAP)
