David Popovici qualified, on Wednesday, with the best time of series, in the semifinals of the 100 m free sample within the World Swimming Championship. The semifinals take place today, from 2 pm, according to TVR Info.

The Romanian athlete traveled the 100 meters in 47.41, before the time recorded by the Australian Kyle Chalmers, who obtained 47.48. Pan Zhanle, the world champion and the Olympic tite of the sample, had the sixth time in the series, 47.86.

The Romanian athlete will compete, from 14.32, in the second semifinals of the sample. The final will take place on Thursday, at 14.32. The semifinals are broadcast live by TVR 1 and TVR Sport.

David has the world title at 100 m free won in 2022.
