E-registration of visits to a doctor. The government adopted the project. When changes?

The bill adopted by the government, prepared by the Ministry of Health, assumes the introduction of central electronic registration for patients.
“From next year, the government will launch central electronic registration, which will increase the availability of visits, shorten the waiting time and help patients choose the best date and facility. The solution will be implemented, among others as part of the National Plan of Reconstruction and Increase Refuge (KPO). The new system will simplify and speed up the registration process to healthcare services as part of primary visits. It will also provide patients with easier access to information on the availability of dates with all healthcare providers covered by the central registration system, “the prime minister said after meeting the government.
How will the central e-registration work?
During registration, patients will be able to determine their preferences regarding the date, location of the visit or choosing a specific doctor. The system will automatically propose the nearest available date, taking into account such factors as the order of applications, the patient's medical category or his powers (e.g. the right to benefits out of order).
One of the key changes will be the introduction of a joint queue for each type of benefit. Patients who will not find a free date will be placed in the central waiting list. Unlike the current system, in which the lists are kept separately by each facility, the new model will allow more effective management of benefits.
E-registration of visits to a doctor. When will it come into force?
The central e-registration is to be launched in 2026, initially covering selected benefits, such as cardiology and prevention of breast and cervical cancer. Over time, the scope of services will be extended to subsequent healthcare areas.
From January 1 to July 1, 2026, medical facilities will have time to join the system. After this period, participation in central registration will become mandatory for the indicated benefits.
However, the implementation of this solution will require medical facilities to adapt to new standards, which may mean organizational challenges in the initial period.
