The destroyer USS Delbert Black arrived in the Middle East region on Thursday, increasing the number of US ships present near Iran to 10, Reuters and CBS reported on Thursday. President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with another attack if it does not abandon its nuclear program.

As reported by CBS television, the new destroyer entered the Central Command area of responsibility on Thursday, including the Middle East and South Asia region. It is the sixth destroyer in the region. In addition, there are three landing ships and the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the region. Air tanker movements were also reported on Thursday, which often accompanies preparations for an attack.
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth told a White House cabinet meeting Thursday that the force deployment is intended to “provide every option to reach a deal” with Iran.
“(Iranians) should not pursue nuclear capabilities, and we are ready to meet all the president's expectations of the War Ministry,” he said.
Trump warned Iran that 'time is running out'
On Wednesday, President Trump warned Iran that “time is running out” to reach a deal on Iran's nuclear program.
A huge armada is heading towards Iran. He moves quickly, with great strength, enthusiasm and determination. This is a larger fleet, commanded by the magnificent aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, than the one sent to Venezuela. “As with Venezuela, it is ready, willing and able to accomplish its mission quickly, with speed and violence if necessary,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
“Let's hope that Iran will quickly 'sit to the table' and negotiate a fair and just agreement – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – beneficial to all parties,” he added. He threatened that the new attack would be “much worse” than the bombing of Iran's nuclear installations in June last year.
On Thursday, Iran's state-run Press TV reported that the navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will conduct live ammunition exercises in the Strait of Hormuz on February 1 and 2.
On Wednesday, an adviser to Iran's ruling Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iran would consider any US military action against itself as the beginning of a war, and in retaliation it would strike the US, Israel and anyone supporting aggression.
