On Thursday, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Wołodymyr interviewed the prime minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer, during which he announced the preparation of a law strengthening the law and independence of the anti -corruption system and about the results of a meeting with the Russian side in Istanbul.

“I informed about the preparation of a bill that will strengthen the rule of law and guarantees the independence and effectiveness of anti -corruption infrastructure. Keir proposed the involvement of experts who may be useful in long -term cooperation. It was agreed that they would remain in contact in this matter,” said Zelanski.

The Ukrainian president informed the British prime minister about a Wednesday meeting with the Russian delegation in Istanbul, during which the next exchange of prisoners was agreed. “The Ukrainian delegation once again emphasized that the arms suspension should be included and proposed to organize a meeting at the level of leaders until the end of August,” he noted.

Zelanski thanked Great Britain for leadership in Ramstein format and new sanctions against Russia. “Moscow must feel the price of his aggression as it deserves. This work will continue,” he emphasized.

The statement issued by Starmer's office reads that the Prime Minister confirmed the unwavering support of Great Britain for Ukraine. As reported, both politicians agreed as to the importance of the role of independent anti -corruption institutions that should support Ukrainian democracy.

“Both leaders emphasized that (Vladimir) Putin must sit at the negotiating table and agree to the unconditional suspension of weapons so that there is a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine,” it was written in the office of the office at Downing Street.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian parliament voted a law on the reduction of the autonomy of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAB) and the Special Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), which are now to be subject to the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine. Therefore, in Ukrainian cities there were protests against the reduction of NAB and SAP autonomy on Tuesday and Wednesday. In response, Zelanski stated on Wednesday that he would submit to the Supreme Council a bill that would “strengthen the system of law and order” and keep “all standards of independence of anti -corruption institutions.”

Nabu was established in 2014. Its creation was one of the conditions for cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF.

Nabu and SAP: The presidential bill restores all our rights

The National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) stated on Thursday that the bill submitted by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski restores all their rights and independence. It was appealed to the parliament to adopt a new law as soon as possible.

“The draft Act 13533, submitted by the President of Ukraine in an urgent mode, restores all procedural rights and guarantees of NAB and SAP NAB and SAP independence and SAP participated in the preparation of the text and call on the Supreme Council of Ukraine to adopt the president's initiative as soon as possible,” reads a message published by NAB.

Nabu and SAP emphasized that the adoption by the Parliament of the presidential bill will secure criminal proceedings conducted by NAB and SAP against potential threats.

The President of Parliament Rusłan Stefanczuk has already informed that the Supreme Council will consider the bill on strengthening Nab and Sapo rights at its next meeting.

“The President of Ukraine has submitted to the Supreme Council of Ukraine a draft Act No. 13533» on changes in the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine and some acts of Ukraine in order to strengthen the rights of Nab and SAP. “The document will be considered by parliament at the next plenary session” – wrote Stefanczuk on Facebook.
