Green wave for the new stadium of FC Argeș! Cristian Gentea, the mayor of the municipality, made the big announcement for fans, through a message published on his personal Facebook account. The stadium will be built on the site of the former “Nicolae Dobrin”.
Despite the rumors that the new budgetary discounts will stop the construction of the Dinamo, Constanța, Timișoara and Pitești arenas, the mayor of Pitești goes with the project, and on Thursday he signed that he has signed the authorization to build the new arena.

This step, announced by the mayor, allows the National Investment Company (CNI) to issue the order to start the works.
“The largest public investment in Pitești in the last 35 years, an investment for which I fought from the first day I came to the town hall, has a free way: today, June 12, 2025, I signed the authorization to build the new stadium !!
The National Investment Company can now give the order to start the works at the “Nicolae Dobrin” Stadium!“, Wrote Cristian Gentea, on Facebook.

The construction of the “Nicolae Dobrin” Arena in Pitești has a value of 75 million euros. The initial plan was for the design to last 7 months, and the works about 29 months. The stadium should have had a capacity of 12,500 seats and be included in the UEFA 4 category with a mixed surface.
FC Argeș promoted directly into the Superliga at the end of this Liga 2 season. In the recent season they evolved on the stadium in Mioveni.
Then the CNI will give the order to start the works. The builder came several times to us and has established the location for the site organization. I do not want to think about what will happen if someone, to cover their powerlessness and inability to manage things, will postpone the construction of the stadium.
