Russia claimed on Sunday the occupation of two other localities in the east and northeast Ukraine, continuing its advance on the front in front of Ukrainian troops that lack weapons and recruits, AFP reports.

According to the daily report broadcast by the Russian Defense Ministry, Moscow troops captured the village of Piddubne in the eastern region Donetsk, a locality west of Kurahove, occupied by the Russians in December 2024.

In the Kharkov region of northeastern Ukraine, the Russian army claimed the occupation of the town of Rogeivka, in an area where the positions had not been moving for months.

The Russian forces accelerated their advance on the front in the last three months, after in March and April they fully regained the territories that were occupied in the summer of 2024 by the Ukrainians in the Russian border region.

The Russian progress on the field was the most important in November 2024, according to an analysis of the France Prese Agency based on data provided by the Institute for War Study (ISW), a reflection center in Washington.

In parallel, Russia has undertaken several waves of massive night strokes on Ukraine in recent weeks.

On Friday, the Russian army launched over 530 explosive drones and about ten missiles, especially on Kiev, making at least two dead. This was the most massive Drone attack from the beginning of the conflict, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
