India and Pakistan agreed on Saturday on a cessation of fire, but the armistice was violated only a few times, after the US President Donald Trump, who mediated the agreement, had announced the cessation of fire.

The violations were recorded in the main cities in the indent Kashmir, a territory that was the main area of hostilities in the last four days of fighting, informs Reuters.

The explosions were heard in Srinagar and Jammu, and the night sky was illuminated by projectiles in Jammu, according to local officials and locals.

The armies of the two countries have not yet commented on the incidents on the common border.

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that India and Pakistan have agreed for “a complete and immediate cessation of fire” after four days of mutual attacks on the military infrastructure of the two armies, reports Reuters.

Trump's announcement was also confirmed by Pakistan's Foreign Minister who said that both states agreed on an “immediate application” armistice.

“After a long night of negotiations mediated by the United States, I am delighted to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed on a cease, complete and immediate. Congratulations to both countries that they have used common sense and great intelligence,” Trump wrote in a post on Social Truth.

The announcement came in a day when fears that the nuclear arsenals of the two countries could be used, after the Pakistani army announced that the first-rate generals will meet with the civil institution supervising the nuclear arsenal.

India hit the Pakistani territory on Wednesday as reprisals for an attack in Indian Kashmir on April 22. No one claimed the attack, which killed 26 civilians, but New Delhi accuses Islamabad, although he denied any involvement.

Since then, rocket attacks, artillery shots and drone attacks have succeeded themselves between the two countries that embark on their painful division of 1947, ignoring all calls for reconciliation.
