Previously, 27 fatalities were informed. According to the Minister of National Security Kristi Noem, who went to the scene of the incident, in the area affected by a flood in the central part of Texas, the coast guard saved over 220 people.
The search and rescue operation on site continues. In total, at least 27 people are sought after, including over 20 girls who stayed at the Camp Mystic camp in Kerr. Participants of the camp are among the deadly victims of floods.
As PAP found out, there were 24 participants in Camp America from Poland at Camp Mystic. Everyone is all and healthy. The camp was near the Guadalupe River, which on Friday left the banks due to heavy rainfall. About 750 people stayed at Camp Mystic, some of them were evacuated by helicopters.
Mayor Kerrville Joe Herring announced that the instant flood took place “at night when people were in beds.”
