Orlen has an agreement with the largest Ukrainian state-owned gas company. Here are the conditions


“Orlen signed a contract with a Ukrainian partner for the supply of 300 million cubic meters. natural gas from the US in the first quarter of 2026. This is the result of the agreement concluded by the companies during the Transatlantic Cooperation Summit (P-TEC), which took place in early November 2025 in Athens,” Orlen reads in Friday's announcement.
“Only a dozen or so days passed between the signing of the letter of intent by Orlen and Naftogaz regarding the contract and its actual conclusion. During this time, we clarified all the details and obtained the necessary corporate approvals” – explains Robert Soszyński, Orlen's vice-president for operations.

He emphasized that “this would not be possible without mutual trust and a good understanding of the needs and goals of the other party. Cooperation between our companies builds the energy security of the region, and at the same time provides each of them with conditions for further business development and strengthening their market position.”

Sergii Koretskyi, president of Naftogaz Ukrainy, also commented on the agreement. “Thanks to the cooperation with Orlen, this year alone, Ukraine will receive 600 million cubic meters. liquefied natural gas from the United States. We predict that in 2026, LNG imports from the USA will reach a total of 1 billion cubic meters,” he said.
The president of Naftogaz added that the company is expanding import possibilities and supply directions to increase Ukraine's energy security.
Orlen – Naftogaz contract. What does it contain?
The contract between Orlen and Naftogaz assumes that in the first quarter of 2026, the Polish company will supply its Ukrainian partner with gas from three deliveries of American LNG. The transaction is concluded on market terms. Orlen will be responsible for importing the raw material. Thanks to its own fleet of gas carriers and the reservation of power in the LNG receiving infrastructure, it aspires to become a significant player on the international liquefied natural gas market.
