Russia used hundreds of drones, cruise and ballistic missiles to attack the west, south and center of Ukraine at night, destroying houses and infrastructure and injuring at least six people, local authorities said on Sunday.
Ukraine lost the third F-16 fighter plane from the beginning of the war while rejecting the attack, said the Kiev army.
The explosions were heard in the regions of Lviv, Poltava, Nikolaev, Dnipropetrovsk and Cerkasî, regional governors said.
The Ukrainian army said that approximately 500 different types of air weapons, including drones, ballistic and cruise missiles were used during the attack.
“The pilot used all the weapons on board”
“To reject the massive attack, all the available means of defense forces that can operate against enemy air means have been used,” said the army.
The pilot of the Ukrainian F-16 aircraft did everything he could and removed the plane from a settlement, but did not have time to catapult, the Ukrainian air forces said.
“The pilot used all the weapons on board and shot down seven air targets. As he felt the last target, his plane was damaged and he began to lose altitude,” the Air Force said on the Telegram Messenger application.
The army said that Russia has launched 477 drones overnight and 60 missiles of different types on Ukraine, while Ukrainian forces destroyed 211 drones and 38 missiles.
The Ukrainian army said that 225 drones were lost-referring to the fact that the electronic war was used to redirect them-or that they were drone simulators that did not carry focus.
According to the quoted source, air attacks were recorded in six locations.
Injured, infrastructure and damaged housing
Six people, of whom a child were injured in the Cerkasî central region, said Governor Ihor stool on Telegram. Three multi -storey buildings and a faculty were damaged in the attack, he said.
Industrial installations were hit in the regions of Nikolaev, southern Ukraine, and Dnipropetrovsk, in the center of the country, officials said.
Local authorities have published photos with multi -storey buildings with broken walls and broken windows and rescue teams evacuating the inhabitants.
The governor of the LVIV region, in the west of the country, said the attack was aimed at the critical infrastructure. However, he did not report the consequences of the attack.
