The heat wave will flood France. Temperatures will exceed up to 40 degrees

The heat wave covered France on Friday and will soon expand deep into the country. Above the Mediterranean Sea, temperatures will exceed 40 degrees Celsius. In some regions, due to the fire hazard, access to forests was prohibited. In Marseille, city pools will be free from the weekend.

On Saturday in 14 departments in the south there will be an orange (penultimate on a scale) weather alert. In the following days, the heat will expand towards the center of the country. In the southeast, a mercury post can show up to 42 degrees on Monday. It is forecasted that this may be the hottest day in history.

For several days, city authorities and emergency services have been announcing warnings and recommendations. In the department of Delta Rodan (whose main city is Marseille), the most exposed to the threat of forest fires, the authorities forbade access to more than half of the forest areas (14 of 26). Firefighters conduct preventive activities to be able to intervene in the event of a fire with fire. In recent days, fires have appeared, but do not cover large areas.

In the neighboring Department of the Gard, where on Saturday temperatures can reach 40 degrees, the authorities announced distributing bottles of water and preparing air -conditioned rooms.

In Marseille (the second largest city of France), until the heat of the city, city swimming pools will be free. The city authorities have prepared a map of public places with air conditioning. Schools in Marseille often fit in older buildings, which is why some teachers and students buy fans themselves to equip classes.

The daily “Le Parisien” warns on Friday about risky attempts to look for refreshment in hot weather. Last weekend, a group of extreme divers published a recording on social networks, which shows how they jump from the roof of buildings to the Lass tank – hidden behind the high walls of the water reservoir in the 16th district of Paris. The tank managing Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów Parisskie (Eau de Paris) lodged a complaint and demanded to withdraw the published recordings.
