Dino employees ready for another protest. “We handed out a net of beets”

On Monday, a protest by employees began in front of the Dino Polska management headquarters in Krotoszyn, demanding specific changes from the employer. Although the action lasted three days, it was not very well attended and did not bring a solution to the conflict. However, there is an effect – a protocol of discrepancies in the ongoing collective dispute was signed. The next step is to be mediation. “It is a pity that instead of building social dialogue, the Management Board continues to escalate the conflict and avoids substantive conversation about employees' demands,” trade unionists from OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy w Handlu wrote on Facebook.

Beet net for the owner of the Dino chain
“During the protest, we handed the founder of Dino Polska a net of beets. This is a symbol of the scale of violations of the law in the company, about which the National Labor Inspectorate has already informed us,” write trade unionists. They add that according to the Inspection's findings, over 1,300 violations of regulations were identified. Inspections are still ongoing.
This is another edition of the conflict between Dino employees and the chain's management in Poland and the second collective dispute. The first main demands of the trade unionists included: increasing employment, salary increases by PLN 900, and establishing a Company Social Benefits Fund. After a warning strike, the management partially gave in and announced a pay raise of PLN 300. However, trade unionists are demanding higher amounts.

Now the main accusation from the unions is blocking the strike referendum. This is about “violating the provisions of the Act on resolving collective disputes, including unlawful refusal to provide documentation necessary to conduct a general strike,” OPZZ informs on social media.
Trade unionists announce further protests in June. “They will take place simultaneously at all Dino Polska logistics centers in the country, including in Krotoszyn. They may cause greater difficulties for road users located near these facilities,” warn the authors of the entry.
