A coach with 47 passengers caught fire on a road in Romania

The incident happened on Saturday, around noon, on a road in Mureş county. There were 47 people in the coach that caught fire, but there were no casualties, according to the authorities.

The bus was traveling within the radius of Soromicleadin, Mureş county, when it caught fire. The driver and passengers escaped safely, the vehicle burning with strong flames, ISU Mureș reported, quoted by News.ro.

Military firefighters from the Sighisoara Detachment intervened to extinguish the fire. According to the rescuers, no passenger needed medical attention. They were housed in a school.

“A minibus from the Sighişoara Fire Department, with the support of the local authorities, who will also provide a minibus, will ensure the transport of people to a general school, where they will be temporarily housed until the arrival of a new bus from the transport company”, according to ISU Mureş.

Following the fire, road traffic was blocked in both directions.
