Black Friday has accelerated BLIK. Records were broken for transactions and purchase values


During the Black Weekend, which lasts from November 28 to December 1, users of the BLIK mobile payment system completed nearly 30 million transactions with a total value of almost PLN 5 billion – informed the system operator. Black Friday alone brought over 8 million transactions, the value of which reached PLN 1.5 billion.
On Saturday, users performed 6.7 million operations, on Sunday this number was 6.3 million, and a record result was achieved on Monday, when 8.6 million transactions were registered.

Record-breaking BLIK. E-commerce drives results
Payments in online stores were the most popular, accounting for 20.9 million transactions worth PLN 3.7 billion. On Monday alone, almost 5.8 million such transactions were made. Over 7.3 million transactions were recorded in stationary stores, of which 3.8 million were carried out using the BLIK code. The system operator also emphasized the increase in the value of stationary purchases, which reached almost PLN 500 million, which means an increase of 24%. compared to the previous year.
The most transactions in stationary stores were recorded in Warsaw (over 400 thousand), Kraków (almost 160 thousand) and Wrocław (over 155 thousand). Poznań with a result of over 125 thousand operation, it was overtaken by Łódź, which took the next place.

BLIK is growing stronger
BLIK, a mobile payment system, is developed by Polski Standard Płatności, whose shareholders include, among others, Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard. In 2022, users performed 2.4 billion transactions using the system for a total amount of over PLN 347.3 billion. In the third quarter of 2025, the number of operations amounted to nearly 744 million and their value exceeded PLN 112.3 billion, which is an increase of 19%. in the number of transactions and by 26 percent in their value compared to the same period last year.
