The head of the Israeli General Staff, general-lieutenant Eyal Zamir, said on Wednesday evening that several “terrestrial commands” acted in Iran during the 12-day war between the two countries, AFP reports.
Greeting successes of his troops, Zamir said they were obtained by “our air forces and terrestrial commands”, adding that “these forces have secretly operated in the heart of the enemy territory and allowed us a complete operational freedom”.
Eyal Zamir, who made these statements in a video broadcast broadcast by the Israeli army, is the first to publicly stated that Israeli soldiers participated in the Iran war in the Islamic Republic.
In this video, Eyal Zamir also stated that, despite the fact that this operation has ended, “the campaign has not yet been over, we must remain vigilant, many challenges are waiting for us.”
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday morning that the cessation of fire between the two countries entered into force shortly after the White House leader made a surprise announcement during the night. So far, both camps have stated that there are victims after the mutual attacks on Tuesday.
