The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, appeared on Tuesday evening just behind his American counterpart Donald Trump, in the official photo taken before the dinner offered by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the NATO countries, in the opening of the NATO summit in The Hague.
The event takes place at the Huis Ten Bosch Palace, the royal residence in the Dutch capital, where the leaders of the NATO member states were invited by the Dutch monarch to an official dinner before the main meeting on Wednesday.

According to Agerpres, Donald Trump arrived at Dineu around 8:40 pm (21:40 Romanian time), about an hour after landing at The Hague. The President of Romania had already arrived, around 7:30 pm.

The Dutch government's intelligence service announced on Tuesday that Trump has accepted the invitation of the Willem-Alexander monarch to spend the night in the same palace in which the king will receive the head and government heads for a NATO summit that takes place in Hague Tuesday and Wednesday.
Initially, it was believed that the US president would sleep in a hotel in the city of Noordwijk, in the South Holland province, near Hague. There, for a few days, the American flags fluttered, and the authorities evacuated the area around the hotel and strengthened security measures.
Former US president Barack Obama was staying at the same hotel during a Hague visit in 2014.
Trump will have breakfast with kings Wednesday morning, before leaving for the World Forum, the Congresses Center that will host the main meeting of the NATO Summit, where the alliance leaders are expected to discuss the latest details of the statement that will include the organization's priorities.
