These new files contain hundreds of video or audio recordings – including surveillance images from August 2019, when the New York sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in the cell where he was imprisoned, writes News.ro.

The files also include transcripts of hearings, FBI and Justice Department files, emails and press articles.

The Justice Department was required by law to release the Epstein file and the file of his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell by December 19.

But the department announced that, due to the large volume of materials, it is going to publish them gradually, in order to censor details about people who appear in them.

On Sunday, a photo of US President Donald Trump that had been removed from the Justice Department's archive of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein was put back online.

“Upon review, it was determined that there was no evidence that any of Epstein's victims were present in the photo, and it was republished without any alteration or redaction”the Department of Justice transmitted, on Sunday, on the X platform.

On Friday, the US Department of Justice released hundreds of thousands of documents from the investigation into sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

But, the next day, at least 16 files could no longer be accessed.

Among these missing documents are images of paintings depicting nude women and a photograph in which Donald Trump appears with Epstein, Melania Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell, an old associate of the criminal.
