Elon Musk's lawyers have claimed that he “does not use a computer” in a document submitted on Sunday to his trial against Sam Altman and Openai, writes Wired.
However, Musk has posted photos with his laptop on the X network or referred to him several times in recent months, and public information suggests and uses at least one computer.
Musk and his artificial intelligence start-up sued Openai in February 2024, claiming that the company violated the contract by abandoning the founding agreement to develop “for the benefit of humanity”, choosing “to maximize the profits for Microsoft”.
The documents submitted on Sunday in the court were presented in response to the documents submitted on Friday by Openai, who accused Musk and Xai of not fully complied with the procedure for communicating the evidence.
Openai claims that Musk's lawyer does not intend to collect any document from him. In the document filed this weekend, Musk's lawyers claim that they have informed Openai on June 14 that “Mr. Musk's mobile phone searches, sought in his emails and that Mr. Musk does not use a computer.”
In the document submitted, Musk's legal team challenged the statements that he would have resisted the efforts to reveal the evidence.
Several employees of the Social Network X told Wired that although Musk is mainly working on his mobile phone, he was occasionally seen using a laptop.
Musk also made public statements in the recent past about the computers he seems to hold. In December 2024, Musk posted a photo with an X laptop, along with a message that starts with “this is a photo of my laptop.”
