The pulmonologist doctor Flavia Groșan, who became known for her numerous anti-COVID19 public positions and after being investigated by the College of Physicians for posting “false” and “dangerous” information, is admitted to the Oradea County Hospital in a very serious condition, medical sources tell HotNews.ro.
Flavia Groșan, who had posted on her Facebook account and that of her medical office in recent days that she was not feeling well, was brought to the hospital in cardiorespiratory arrest and was resuscitated. Currently she is in a coma, in serious condition, claim medical sources for HotNews.ro
“She is in critical condition, intubated and mechanically ventilated. She was resuscitated by two crews and admitted through the pneumology department at ATI SCJU Bihor. She was found unconscious by her husband who called the ambulance last night”, medical sources tell HotNews.ro
Groșan, a few days ago: “Last night I thought I was dying.
On his Facebook page, the pulmonologist complained in recent weeks that he was suffering from a cough and other symptoms of pneumonia.
“Tonight I thought I was going to die. I didn't think I would make it through the night. Any of you would have run to the hospital. Thank God, I survived. But on Monday urgently for investigations. Something is wrong with me,” Flavia Groșan wrote on Facebook on October 10.
A few days later, on October 12, Groșan wrote on the page of his medical office:
“I'm still far from recovering from the pneumonia I was telling you about the other day. As a pulmonologist, I'm trying. But you won't be able to without a doctor nearby. These days I realized the risks I was taking with the covid treatment.”
Grosan, investigated by the College of Physicians for his controversial posts
In August, the doctor Flavia Groșan caused a public controversy after stating, in a post on his Facebook page, that a 32-year-old man, unvaccinated, would have presented symptoms such as chest pain, severe fatigue and “mental fog”, after having intimate relations with his partner, vaccinated against COVID-19.
The post was categorized by the Romanian Society of Pneumology as “fake medical news”.
The post was later deleted by the doctor, however, after the Bihor College of Physicians announced the launch of a disciplinary investigation against him following statements categorized as “dangerous” and “aberrant”.
Controversy during the pandemic
Flavia Groșan also came to the center of attention during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she declared that she “cured almost a thousand Covid patients in various stages, without a single day of hospitalization”, treating the disease “as an atypical pneumonia”.
She claimed that “huge mistakes are being made in hospitals and the Covid protocol is actually killing patients”, claims contradicted by other medical specialists.
Her messages were amplified by television and social networks, generating a wave of public support and even street protests in Oradea. The Facebook group “Alaturi de Flavia Groșan” gathered over 93,000 members in a short time.
The Bihor College of Physicians self-referred at that time and summoned Flavia Groșan to a discussion before the Ethics Commission. After the meeting, which lasted about an hour, the president of the organization, Dr. Carmen Pantiș, said that the doctor would not be sanctioned.
