Iran, through the voice of the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghai, says that the American weekend hits have caused significant damage to its nuclear installations, Al Jazeera, quoted by Reuters.
“Our nuclear installations have been badly damaged, this is certain,” Baghai said on Wednesday.
US President Donald Trump reiterated on Wednesday that Iranian nuclear installations were “completely destroyed” in Saturday night attacks on Sunday, which targeted the nuclear sites at Flenow, Natanz and Isfahan.
Trump's statements came after CNN revealed that American espionage established, according to a confidential classified document, that American attacks in Iran have delayed the Iranian nuclear program with just a few months, but not completely destroyed.
Asked about Trump's statements, Baghai said Iran intends to continue to pursue the development of nuclear energy.
“What I have to say is that the right of Iran to peaceful nuclear energy remains intact. Iran has all the rights, based on TNP (the Treaty of Nuclear Polishment) … to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. And Iran is ready to keep this right in any circumstances,” Baghai said.
