US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday morning that the cessation of fire between the two countries entered into force shortly after the White House leader made a surprise announcement during the night. So far, both camps have stated that there are victims after the mutual attacks on Tuesday.

  • Donald Trump announced, during the night, on the Social Truth that Iran and Israel have agreed on a “total” cessation of fire to end the conflict.
  • The announcement was made a few hours after Iran launched a rocket attack on an American military base in Qatar, in response to American attacks on its nuclear installations.
  • Israel has not publicly commented on fire cessation, while Iranian Foreign Minister said Tehran will continue to fight “until the last minute.”
  • Subsequently, there were reported rocket attacks overnight in both countries
  • In the last hour, the Iranian state press announced that the cessation of fire began after four waves of attacks on Israel.
  • Meanwhile, the Israeli army said citizens can leave the bunkers and the airspace has been reopened, signaling the end of Iranian missile threats.

Donald Trump said the armistice between Israel and Iran is “now in effect,” according to Sky News. “Please do not violate him,” he added in a post on Social Truth.

The Iranian state press reported that the armistice started, but there was no official confirmation from Israel.

An Israeli official told Walla's news site, quoted by The Times of Israel, that a fire cease between Israel and Iran, announced by US President Donald Trump, will remain in force if both parties adhere to it.

“Trump has announced a cessation of fire. If all the parties respect it, it will keep it,” said the official under the protection of anonymity.

One hour after Trump's announcement on the entry into force of the armistice, the Israeli government said he accepted the proposal to cease the US president.

Benjamin Netanyahu's office said that Israel will respond “forcefully” to any violation of fire cease with Iran.

The statement adds that Israel has achieved its objective to eliminate the nuclear and ballistic threat of Iran and thanks US President Donald Trump for “defense support and participation” in this approach.

The Israeli leader will make a statement on Tuesday.

After Trump spoke for the first time about the armistice between the two countries, Israeli emergency services announced that four people have died in Beersheba in an Iranian attack, according to Sky News.

Nine people were killed on Tuesday morning following Israeli attacks on residential buildings in the province of Gilan, northern Iran, said the vice-government of the province for the Tasnim News Agency, The Guardian reports.

One proof of how confusing the situation was until the official announcement in Israel is that even former US officials had difficulty understanding what was happening, after Trump made ads all night.

Former US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, wrote on Tuesday morning on X: “Very confused! Israel has 12 hours to hit, according to its first announcement? Or should it be in the cessation of fire now? Even after the Deads in Beersheva and the Iran's missile dam after the expiration of the deadline?
