June is a decisive month for roses. Right now their strength is formed, on which the splendor and duration of flowering depends. So that the bushes do not weaken, and each bud was opened as on a postcard, it is enough to take only a few steps.
Generous watering: the basis of life
Roses do not tolerate drying out. But frequent watering in small portions is also not a way out. Once a week, pour the bushes with warm water under the root, slowly, abundantly, to wet the ground to the depths. Water should not fall on the leaves and buds, so you protect the plant from the fungus.
After watering, be sure to loosen the soil so that oxygen comes to the roots. Complete the procedure with a layer of mulch. A layer of hay, peat or bark of 5-7 cm is enough. They will hold moisture and suppress the growth of weeds.
Top dressing, from which roses are puffed with health
The beginning of summer is a time when roses especially need strength. Feed them with an alternation of organics and minerals. Infusions of herbs, mullein (diluted 1:10), bird droppings (1:20), as well as a mixture of potassium-phosphorus fertilizers are suitable.
For 10 liters of water, it is enough to take 10 g of superphosphate, potassium sulfate and nitrate. These substances strengthen the bush, support the development of the roots and make flowers brighter. Microelements (iron, magnesium, manganese) increase resistance to disease.
Do fucked top dressing in the evening or in cloudy weather so as not to burn the foliage.
Flowering requires proper pruning
In June, check the bushes, remove the dried shoots, as well as the “blind” that grow, but do not form buds. Cut the wilted flowers at once. This gives an impetus to the new ovaries. Pure, neat bushes bloom longer and develop better.
Prevention instead of treatment
The heat, humidity and night temperature differences are an ideal environment for fungi. To prevent diseases, spray the bushes with ash infants, onions or milk with iodine. An ordinary soap solution will also help.
If pests (aphids, spider mite) appear, use insecticides, alternating drugs, so as not to cause addiction.
Pay a little attention to the plants: pour, feed, cut the excess, protect from diseases. And then by the middle of the summer your roses will reveal on full force, forming large, bright and fragrant buds.
