Top ministers from Turkey, flanked by the heads of the army and intelligence services, had a meeting with closed doors on Friday to discuss the wave of Israel's attacks on Iran, a source from the Ankara Ministry for AFP said.
The meeting also attended the ministers of defense and foreign affairs, the source said.
According to the source, the discussions from the ministry “focused on the process that started with Israeli air attacks on Iran and their possible repercussions.”
Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of trying to attract the world into a “disaster”, urging the international community to stop, he said, the “banditism” of Israel.
The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “tries to draw our region and the whole world in disaster with its insane, aggressive and illegal actions,” Erdogan said on a post on X.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a vocal critic of Israel and a fervent supporter of the Palestinian cause, accused Israel of leading his “strategy to drown our region, especially Gaza, blood, tears and instability in a very dangerous stage.”
The statements of the Turkish leader and the meeting in Ankara come in the context in which, on Thursday night, Israel attacked Iran's nuclear installations, Iranian ballistic missiles and Iranian military commanders, as described to be the beginning of an operation meant to prevent Tehran to build an atomic bomb.
While the F-35, F-15 and F-16 Israeli aircraft launched Raid on Iran targets, Kamikaze drones planted by Mossad near the Tehran capital hit the missile launchers. Most likely, new Israeli raids, but also a harsh response of Iran, will show, and the next few days will show what country has prepared better for this confrontation, the Economist, New York Times and Times of Israel.
According to Israeli officials, Israel spent years preparing the massive attack on nuclear and Iranian rocket programs that eventually occurred on Thursday night.
