Ukraine wants a regional alliance with Romania and Moldova for cyber security. The first consultations took place in Cernăuți

Consultations regarding the creation of an alliance in the field of cyber security with representatives of Romania and the Republic of Moldova took place on July 30 in Cernăuţi, in order to develop the practical cooperation in counteract the cyber and hybrid threats, especially from the Russian Federation, a statement from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is shown.
The alliance would strengthen cooperation between Ukraine, Romania and the Republic of Moldova in the field of information on cyber threats, joint development and implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence, training of specialists, increasing the resilience of critical infrastructure and protecting democratic institutions.
Among the guiding principles of the Alliance are the ability to jointly respond to cyber attacks that represent a threat to the national security of the Allies and the opening, which ensures the possibility of accession of new members from countries that share common democratic values and strategic priorities.
Russia, regarded as the main threat
“Russia, as a terrorist country, uses the cyber space to threaten the security and stability of the democratic world. The Alliance will become a platform that will strengthen the collective cyber security of the participating countries and develop effective mechanisms to counteract these threats,” said Natalia Tkaciuk, secretary of the National Coordination Center for Coordination Center.

The Cernăuţi Military Regional Administration has taken the initiative to ensure an organizing base for the development of the Alliance, creating a regional cyber security center. Ruslan Zaparaniuk, the head of the Cernăuţi regional military administration, stressed that the initiative will strengthen cyber security at both regional and international levels and will promote the concentration of advanced expertise and strategic growth in the region.
During the consultations, the head of the Special State Service for Communications, Oleksandr Potii, said that his country is ready to join the Alliance, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the cyber resilience of the regions. A representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the relevance of the creation of an effective mechanism for international cooperation in the field of cyber security and the development of cyber diplomacy.
The formation of a cyber alliance will be an important step in the implementation of the agreements to which the presidents of Ukraine, Romania and the Republic of Moldova have reached the fourth Summit-Southeast Europe.
