Extraordinary meeting after Israel's attack. Iran directed the call

The decision on an extraordinary meeting was made on Friday during the regular quarterly session of Maea.

Each of the 35 member countries of the Governors' Council may submit an application to organize a special meeting. Iran, who is not a member of this body, asked for such a meeting, directing the call to the Member States: Russia, China and Venezuela – reported Reuters informators. The agency's interlocutors presented various relations regarding which member of the Governors' Council was the first to submit an application in this matter.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragczi called on the director of Maea Rafael Grossi to immediately convene an extraordinary meeting of the Governors' Council in order to discuss the situation.
