According to AUR leader Petrișor Peiu, the removal of Ilie Bolojan from the leadership of the Executive will make the PNL leader ambitious to become even more politically active.

Asked at “Interviurile Adevărul” if Ilie Bolojan is making a long-term plan for Cotroceni, the number 2 of AUR answered that the current prime minister will be forced by his party colleagues to take this step.

“He seemed to have it, now I think his party colleagues will force him. We can expect surprises, but he fills a void for them in the PNL. So far they don't have another viable candidate”said Petrisor Peiu.

The leader of the AUR senators is not convinced that after the motion his party will be called to consultations in Cotroceni, but he also does not consider it beneficial to go there since Nicușor Dan says he excluded him from political life.

“It remains to be seen if he will summon us for consultations. For now, he said that we are a kind of party with restricted rights, he excluded us from any possible combination of government, including the right to vote for a government in Parliament, so I don't know if he will invite us. Personally, I will support within the party cwe should not go to consultations with someone who excluded us from political life”Petrișor Peiu also said.

At the same time, the leader of the AUR avoided saying whether his party will support Călin Georgescu for the position of prime minister, a theory launched even by the president of the AUR, George Simion.

“I don't think we have been asked for a prime minister. The moment we are asked and everyone comes to the conclusion that the AUR should be the prime minister then we will have an internal consultation, we will determine who it is and we will see”the leader of the AUR senators also sent.

Petrișor Peiu also mentioned that the AUR should not work with a shadow government, as was the one in 2024 led by Marius Lulea, the leader of the AUR senators being against such an idea.

“The AUR party at one point had an alternative government, I opposed this idea, I still oppose it. Marius Lulea was expected to be prime minister, who is now in some dispute with the AUR leaders.”
