By decision of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, 379 power generators and 18 heaters from the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves will be delivered to Ukraine in the coming days, the Ministry of Interior and Administration informed. The equipment is also donated, among others, to: from EU funds. The first transports will depart for Ukrainian cities on Friday.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the humanitarian situation in Ukraine has become critical as a result of systematic Russian attacks targeting energy and heating infrastructure.
Ukraine without electricity and heating
Currently, almost 60 percent Kiev remains without access to electricity, and thousands of households function without heating. During severe frosts, this poses a direct threat to the life and health of hundreds of thousands of people.
The Ministry of Interior and Administration announced on Friday that Poland has launched immediate in-kind aid that will go to the regions most in need. The support is based on three independent sources, which – as the ministry pointed out – create a broad front of support for the Ukrainian energy sector.
Equipment from RARS stocks
By decision of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the management of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves separated 379 power generators and 18 heaters from its reserves. This is a direct response to the most urgent needs reported by the Ukrainian side. At the same time, the ministry assured that the provision of generators and heaters from Polish reserves does not affect RARS's ability to carry out its tasks and ensure safety.
At the same time, within the framework of European mechanisms, Poland is coordinating the transfer of another 447 power generators. The capital city of Warsaw also offered support, providing 90 generators. Transport of the equipment donated by Warsaw will be provided by the State Fire Service.
A large logistics operation
The Ministry of Interior and Administration said that the entire logistics operation was planned for the next few days, and a fleet of a dozen or so trucks will start deliveries on Friday. The first transport, consisting of four cars, left on Friday from the warehouses in Leśmierz in the Łódź Voivodeship.
The next stages are scheduled for the beginning of next week. On Monday, 10 trucks will leave Kamienica Królewska near Gdańsk, and on Tuesday another five vehicles will leave from the same point. The last of the groups of cars planned for this week will leave on Wednesday from Lisowice near Wrocław.
The donated equipment will enable the operation of heating points and public utility facilities.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that after Tuesday's Russian attacks on energy facilities in Kiev, almost 60 percent buildings are without electricity, and approximately 4,000 buildings remain without heating.
On Tuesday, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, said in an interview with AFP that approximately 600,000 people have left Kiev since January 9, when he appealed to residents to temporarily evacuate the city. After massive Russian attacks, half of the buildings in Kiev were left without heating, he added.
Trzaskowski: 90 power generators from Warsaw will go to Kiev
Due to Russia's intensifying attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, the Warsaw authorities are sending 90 generators to Kiev, the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, announced on Friday. The aid is expected to reach the capital of Ukraine on Friday.
At Friday's press conference at the “Filter” Water Treatment Plant, President Rafał Trzaskowski noted that a significant part of Kiev was cut off from electricity. – I previously talked to the mayor (of Kiev, Vitaly – PAP) Klitschko about this matter. Help is needed, he added.
– First of all, we need generators – noted Trzaskowski. Five vehicles with ninety units will set off and arrive from Warsaw to Kiev on Friday. Transport of the equipment donated by Warsaw will be provided by the Fire Department.
– We all see photos from Kiev of frozen staircases, hospitals that are not functioning and people leaving Kiev – said the mayor of the capital. He emphasized “full solidarity” with the eastern neighbor and “disagreement with the barbaric behavior of the Russians.”
