Video new developments in the US: Marine prisons are waiting outside Los Angeles while protests extend to several cities

The 700 marini kids who are mobilized on Monday night in the Los Angeles area were still “in training” on Wednesday morning and it is not clear when they will be sent to the streets to help managing the protests, the US Command said for CNN, responsible for the defense of the American territory.
A spokesman of the Military Command told CNN television station that the marine kids “did not end their training [privind Regulile permanente pentru utilizarea forței] and training with non -lethal weapons and I do not have an estimate for when they will be employed by Task Force 51 ”.
Task Force 51 is the contingency command post of the US North Command, which provides troops that can be quickly dislocated to respond to the country's defense operations.
The North Command is mainly responsible for protecting the American territory and manages missions such as the security of the southern border, the anti -aircraft and missile defense, as well as the cooperation with Canada and Mexico in common security.
Last days, Pete Hegseth, American Defense Secretary, told Congressmen that all the troops that were carried out in the area have already been trained for the mission.
Troops sent to Los Angeles, including Marine kids, are authorized to temporarily retain people in a very specific circumstance, that is, when the situation disassembles and someone should not be temporarily retained by a soldier, until they can be transferred to law enforcement.
On Tuesday, a local Affiliate Post CNN surprised pictures of the marine kids during training, in which they seemed to practice the restraint of people.
The filmed training involved “non -lethal control techniques of the crowd, in order to relax any situation for which they are sent to protect the federal or property staff,” explained the spokesman of the body of Marine (Marine Corps), Joshua Benson.

The protests that encompassed America
The protests that broke out in Los Angeles on Friday as a demonstration against ICE actions – the Agency for Immigration and Customs of the United States, accused of abusive way applies immigrant expulsions, began to expand throughout the country.
In the face of these tensions, US President Donald Trump has held thousands of militaries in the Californian city – including the 700 marine prisoners, as part of a federal strategy to suppress the street demonstrations against ICE.
But this move of the Republican President represents an extraordinary use of the armed forces in support of a police operation and takes place despite the opposition of local and state leaders, who did not ask for help.
Why the protests in Los Angeles are “a warning for countries that flirt with populism”
Thus, in recent days, protests against the actions of the Trump administration in the field of immigration have expanded to other big cities in the United States. CNN mentions some of these:
- to new yorknumerous crowds have marched through Manhattan for several hours yesterday. The demonstrations remained peaceful most of the day, but things degenerated during the evening with clashes between the police and the protesters who had gathered near the building that houses the ICE office in New York.
- And to Chicago There were clashes between protesters and law enforcement on Tuesday. Videos posted online have shown tense confrontations between police and a lot that shots. There was also an incident in which a car entered the crowd, hitting the pedestrians who waved a banner and a bicyclist.
- In the state Texasthe protests broke out in several cities. On Monday, the police in Austin declared “illegally” such a protest, then using tear gas and arresting 13 people. Also, in Dallas, a tense confrontation between protesters and police took place on Monday. Meanwhile, in San Antonio, hundreds of people gathered on Sunday in front of the town hall for a peaceful protest. But before other protests planned for this week, the Republican Governor Greg Abbott announced the National Guard in Texas in several areas of the state.
- In the city San Franciscotwo courts with competences in immigration were closed on Tuesday afternoon due to protests. Several protesters gathered before the courts.
- In DenverColorado, the anti-Iic protesters marched along the main arteries in the city, the police eventually blocking the streets behind them. A spokesman for the Denver Police Department told CNN that 17 people were arrested on Tuesday.
- Protests also took place in other big American citiessuch as Santa Ana, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Seattle, Boston and Washington, Dc.
The military and federal law enforcement operations have deepened the divisions between the two major American political parties, in the conditions in which Trump, Republican, threatened to arrest the Democratic Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, because he opposed the federal media measures.
The state of California sued the Trump administration on Monday to block the development of the National Guard and Marine prisons, claiming that the measure violates the federal law and its autonomy.
The Democratic leader of the Senate Armed Services Commission, Senator Jack Reed, said he was “deeply worried” of conducting active marine prisoners in Los Angeles, on Trump's orders.
“The president forces the abuse of power the authority of the governor and the mayor and uses the army as a political weapon. This unprecedented movement risks turning a tense situation into a national crisis,” said Reed.
“Since the establishment of our nation, the American people have been very clear: we do not want the army to carry out law enforcement activities on the US,” he added.
Rare use of military in a US city
American marine kids are known to be the first forces that set a bridgehead in the US armed interventions and the latter leaving a busy territory.
Although the military forces have been carried out on national territory in cases of major disaster, such as Hurricane Katrina or attacks on September 11, 2001, it is extremely rare for troops to be used during internal civil disorders.
Even without invoking “insurrection act” (the law on insurrection), Trump can carry out Marini prisoners under certain legal conditions or by virtue of his authority as head of the army.
The last time the army was used directly in police actions under “Insurrection Act” was in 1992, when the Governor of California then asked President George HW Bush to respond to the Los Angeles revolts triggered by the payment of policemen who beat Rodney King, a color driver.
Newsom argues that, as a governor, he is the only one who has the authority to call the national guard, qualifying Trump's action as “a clear step towards authoritarianism.”
Trump, in turn, said he supports Tom Homan's suggestion, the border officer of his administration, for Newsom to be arrested for possible federal measures to apply immigration laws. “I would do it if I were in Tom's place. I think it's an excellent idea,” Trump told journalists.
