The pensioner received a call from unknown people on her home phone and reported scammers who were trying to apply for a loan on her behalf. The woman was asked to withdraw all the money from her account and transfer it to a “safe” account.
Frightened, she went to the bank to withdraw her savings in the amount of 580 thousand rubles.
“The manager Ekaterina Novikova noticed that the client was worried and began asking her about the purpose of closing the deposit. The woman replied that she was going to buy her son a car, but this did not convince the bank employee that the transaction was safe. Ekaterina suggested calling the pensioner’s son to the department to find out if she was under the influence of scammers. When the man arrived and talked with the mother, she admitted that she was “saving” her savings from intruders. After this, bank employees called the police,” said the Krasnoyarsk Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The head of police department No. 5, Nikolai Krasilnikov, presented a letter of gratitude to the bank manager and expressed gratitude for his active life position, concern and assistance in stopping the crime.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. on the fact of attempted fraud. 30, part 3 art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
