After the rain of September 1, which led to the mass flooding of Krasnoyarsk streets, the regional prosecutor's office decided to find out what actions the authorities are taking to solve the problem related to the maintenance and operation of storm sewers.

The department noted that only 211 kilometers of rainfalls account for 1.2 thousand kilometers of city roads. Rain water has nowhere to be removed, which leads to its accumulation on the streets and driveways with high pedestrian and automobile traffic.
“In August 2025, after abundant precipitation, the prosecutor’s office made a surprise to organize the cleaning of the sewage system and activate its preparation for the upcoming autumn sediments. However, cleaning the networks did not radically fix the situation and it repeated in early September, ”the supervisory department said.
Now the prosecutor's office has put the authorities for the construction of a new storm sewer and its integration into the street network. During the audit, responsible persons must submit comprehensive financing data, projects and deadlines. According to the results, a set of response measures will be adopted in order to eliminate violations and hold the perpetrators accountable.
