A fire occurred at the locomotive of a passenger train, on Thursday, in the area of the Băbuţeni station in Sălaj county, according to the images and details offered for Hotnews by a train traveler.
The train had started traveling on the Baia Mare – Bucharest route, according to the Sălaj Emergency Situations Inspectorate, but it stopped in the Băbuţeni station area.
The travelers went down and noted that a very dense smoke was coming out of the locomotive, when they were transmitted that the locomotive had burned, one of the passengers told Hotnews.
According to the traveler, the firefighters arrived on the spot in about 10 minutes and liquidated the fire. The passengers on the train were told that a locomotive will come from Jibou.
The fire also wrote Clujenii.ro, who claims that he was leaving the station.
ISU Sălaj, quoted by Agerpres, said that “the locomotive was followed by five wagons, which were detached and at least 30 passengers were safe. There were no people who required medical care.”
The institution says that the fire affected the engine compartment of the locomotive, and the prompt intervention of the fire crew limited the propagation of the flames to the wagons, by decoupling the locomotive from the rest of the gasket.
