The first interview from the election. Karol Nawrocki about his presidency


The conversation began with a kind of summary of the past campaign. There was a question about three things that decided to win.
“I think, above all, that the issue of social and civic support,” said Karol Nawrocki, emphasizing that it is obvious that without the support of Law and Justice “the whole project had no chance to realize.”
“However, this is the strength of the largest opposition party in the Polish parliament,” he said.
At the same time, he assessed that his victory is the result of a broad commitment and support of many other organizations. He mentioned “Solidarity”, mentioned citizens' committees not mentioned from the name, as well as many “people of good will”.
“It would not be possible to win these elections without what happened in Poland at the turn of these six months and the fact that Poles wanted the president to make them the hosts in their homeland. I think that without this civic uprising it would not succeed” – emphasized President of Elect.
Karol Nawrocki is “ready to cooperate with Prime Minister Donald Tusk”
Later in the conversation, President Elekt answered the question of how he saw his term and his future cooperation with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Karol Nawrocki declared that he is ready to cooperate “in matters good for Poles“. At the same time, he noted that The head of government must focus on “strong resistance” from the Presidential Palace.
“Of course, in matters good for Poles, in matters that Poles are waiting for, is and will be ready as a president to sit at one table with the prime minister of the Polish government“.
At the same time, he emphasized his “very critical” attitude to Tusk.
“There are certainly some things that Poles are waiting for and this should be the result of the President and Prime Minister's conversation,” said Nawrocki.
President of Elek, When asked about the possible “celebration” of the president by the government, he noted that “he would not be able to take the competence of the President of Poland”. He also noted that the head of government must focus on “strong resistance” from the Presidential Palace, if it happens.
Nawrocki said that he was thinking about “how to restore Poland to such a condition in which people trust the institutions of the Polish state and which fear does not rule.”
“We should conduct a political dispute, because the political dispute is part of any democratic system, but it must have some limits” – he emphasized.
Karol Nawrocki reveals the names of colleagues
During the interview, a question was asked about the future colleagues of President Elekt. Karol Nawrocki revealed several names in response.
“The spokesperson of the future president will be Dr. Rafał Leśkiewicz, who was my close associate at the Institute of National Remembrance” – said the winner of the presidential election Karol Nawrocki.
“I encourage everyone to contact the President's future spokesman” – he added.
Later in the conversation, President Elek mentioned the next names.
“The head of my office will be Paweł Szefernaker, who during these 6 months (election campaign) proved himself as a new generation politician, a very experienced politician, but also very open to this social element” – said Nawrocki.
Nawrocki also announced that Nawrocki's collaborator from the presidency of the IPN Jarosław Dębowski will be deputy Paweł Szefernaker.
“Jarosław Dębowski will be the deputy, who was my director of the President's office at the Institute of National Remembrance, and therefore a man completely outside of political life” – emphasized Nawrocki. As he noted, he has “Wide competences and great organizational opportunities“.
Karol Nawrocki announces a new department of the National Security Bureau
“There will be a special department dedicated to new technologies in the military in the National Security Office,” said President Elekt Karol Nawrocki. He added that Poland “cannot sleep in the technological revolution.”
“I built a new technology office at the Institute of National Remembrance. Everyone said it was impossible to do to combine a difficult historical memory of the 20th century with new technologies. It succeeded, it brought great results” – said Nawrocki. He added that he wants to introduce technological development throughout Poland. “We deserve to have a silicon valley in Poland (…) we have great specialists in this area and need the president's care” – said Nawrocki.
President Elek announced that he will submit a draft act on the groundbreaking technology fund shortly after the sworn in. He emphasized that he would strive for technological development to serve not only the Polish economy, but also security.
“The war front in Ukraine shows that some of the reconnaissance troops are served completely without the participation of direct people. These will definitely be topics that will be very important and very close to me,” said Nawrocki.
“We cannot sleep the moment of the technological revolution in the world. There will be a special department dedicated to new military technologies in the Military Technologies in the National Security Office” – he noted.
