The Minister of Education says he will come up with proposals for the school to involve more parents in the educational process

The Minister of Education, Daniel David, said he would formulate proposals on how the school could involve parents in the educational process of their children, writes News.ro.

The Minister of Education spoke about this aspect after the officials of the Organization for Cooperation and Economic Development, who made a report on the state of education in Romania, said that the involvement of parents in students education is more important than the material situation of the families.

“In the discussion with the OECD and especially with the director of the Department for Education, a very interesting conclusion that we have reached through the data they had and who think it is important, we have to say public and take it in the minds of the school people: the school can certainly not replace the parents in the educational process. I said, you cannot take their role, but you could activate them to get involved in the educational process of their children, “said Daniel David on Thursday night.

He said that OECD data shows that mere questions like “How was it at school?” Or “What note did you take?” they are more important than the economic situation of a student's family.

The minister said he would formulate proposals on how the school could involve parents in the educational process of their own children.
