Ukrainian air forces have announced that Russia has attacked Ukraine with 472 drones on Saturday night, a “record” from the beginning of the invasion, Pravda reports.
Russia has launched 472 drones and seven missiles, Ukrainian air forces announced on Sunday, which said that 385 of these projectiles were neutralized.
The main directions of the air attack were the regions of Kharkov, Sumî, Jitomir, Odessa, Donetk, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporojie.
This is about the biggest Russian attack with drones since the beginning of the war, in February 2022, a spokesman for Air Forces said for AFP.
Also last night, two bridges collapsed in two Russian regions on the border with Ukraine, causing trains, at least seven dead and dozens of injured, the Russian authorities, who invoked “explosions”, announced.
The drone attack on Ukraine came the day before the two round of peace negotiations from Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia.
The Ukrainian negotiators who will participate in the discussions of Monday in Istanbul will present to the Russian part a roadmap they propose to reach a sustainable peace solution, a copy of the document consulted by Reuters shows.
The proposed roadmap begins with a complete ceasefire over a period of at least 30 days, followed by the release of all the prisoners from the two camps, but also of the Ukrainian children who were taken on the territory controlled by Russia. Then a meeting is planned between the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
The Russian and Ukrainian delegations have already held discussions in Istanbul on May 16, but the meeting was largely without success, the two countries only agree with a large exchange of prisoners.
