The European Salt Manufacturers Association has expressed its willingness to send Praid equipment and experts to help resolve the situation, the director of Salrom, Constantin Dan Dobrea, quoted by Agerpres announced on Saturday.
“The European Salt Manufacturers Association has shown its solidarity and all the countries that have salt producers-they will send large pumps to help us extract water from the ground and, more than that, we are looking for solutions because we will encounter a problem later: where will we go?”, Dobrea said.
“It is a brine with a very high degree of saturation. And, under these conditions, we are looking for a solution of desalination installations that will probably be obtained with the help of the Association of European Salt Manufacturers, who have sent us both a message of solidarity and have expressed their availability to help with everything possible in equipment, people and experts to solve this member, to explained the director of Salrom.
He said that experts from Babeş-Bolyai University will come to Praid, as well as international experts who will evaluate the saline situation.
Director Salrom informed that mining rescuers had underground to establish the salt concentration.
“At this moment, the salinity of the water is focused somewhere at 160 grams per liter. (…) They only entered to take evidence, because it is very dangerous to access the mine at this time and we cannot endanger anyone's life. Only mining rescuers who know what risks are exposed and how to guard them,” Dobrea explained.
