After qualifying in the second round at the US Open, Alexander Zverev (28 years old, 3 ATP) revealed that he still has physical problems and has been irritated by his brother Mischa comments, making an irony.
In the first round at Flushing Meadows, Alexander Zverev defeated 6-2, 7-6 (4), 6-4 on Alejandro Tabilo (28 years, 122 ATP). In the second round, the German will play against Jacob Fearnley (24 years, 60 ATP), who comes after the victory with Roberto Bautista-Agut (37 years, 47 ATP), score 7-5, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.

At the end of the match, Zverev had a tense dialogue with Sky, who informed him a comment made by Mischa, his brother. He had stated that Alexander had no more problems with his backwhich disturbed it on the world number 3.

Sky: Your brother said you have no problems with your back. Is everything ok?
Zverev: What did my brother say?
Sky: That you have no problems with your back.
Zverev: Yes my brother always knows better. No, I still have back pain. Will not change in the next 2 weeks.
Alexander Zverev had a complicated 2025 year in which, perhaps, mental health problems affected him more than physical. After the Australian Open final, the 28 -year -old tennis stopped in “quarters” at Roland Garros, losing Novak Djokovic.
Then, at Wimbledon, the crisis of Zverev was deepened by the elimination in the first round, after a defeat against the French Arthur Rinderknech. In total, he has a balance of 43 wins and 16 defeats in 2025.

The 2020 finalist in search of the first Grand Slam title
At the US Open, the best results of Zverev are a final in 2020 and a semifinal in 2021. In the last two editions, the German has stopped in the quarterfinals of the New York competition.
Mischa Zverev (38 years old), Alexander's brother, also played a professional tennis, his career stretching from 2005 to 2023. With one title in the palmares he climbed to the 25th place.
