He also noted that he was not hiding from justice and was leaving and returning to Ukraine legally. And the fabrications and manipulations spread by journalists often defeat common sense and legality:
“I understand that my previous position made me a convenient target. But to show a video of my daughter, who runs a charity project at school, instead of any evidence, do you seriously think that this is the level of an investigation?” Shurma asks.
“The main facts are as follows:
– The first fact is that the Ukrainian side misled the German law enforcement system and obtained permission to search through manipulation of official documents. Local lawyers are already dealing with this.
– The second fact is that I do not have the status of either a suspect or an accused person, although this is exactly what Ukrainian detectives informed the German side.
– The third fact is that there is no “case of Shurma and his brother”, as they are trying to show. There is a factual case regarding the situation with more than 70 enterprises, whose power plants were located in the temporarily occupied territory, but continued to supply electricity to the energy system of Ukraine.”
Shurma added that he fully cooperates with justice and does not avoid any questions.
“And in the future, I am not going to silently observe how the truth is distorted. Therefore, I demand refutations of false information from those who publish it. After appropriate legal procedures in Germany, he is ready to provide journalists with more details about the law enforcement officers' methods of fabricating “evidence”, he added.
