Employers have posted over 10,000 jobs on eJobs Romania since the beginning of May, with most opportunities for the summer season being available in retail, construction, the food industry/HoReCa and tourism, according to a press release from eJobs Romania, writes Agerpres.
“More than 10,000 jobs have been posted since the beginning of May until now on eJobs.ro and almost another 1,500 on iajob.ro, this being the period when employers in fields such as tourism or HoReCa, but also in retail or construction are preparing for the peak of activity in the warm season. Candidates who are looking for a summer job or even a permanent job currently have a series of of opportunities in areas such as retail, services, construction, the food industry / HoReCa or tourism. Some of these jobs are seasonal or project-based, and the sectors in which such opportunities appear most frequently are tourism, retail, naval – aeronautics, services and the food industry / HoReCa”, said Roxana Drăghici, Head of Sales within eJobs, quoted in the press release.
In addition to these, which add up to less than 5% of the total number of jobs posted in the last month, 1,700 part-time positions were also put on the market, the cited source mentions.
According to the cited source, most belong to employers in insurance, services, retail, real estate, finance – banking, advertising/marketing/PR and call – center/BPO.
Young people, in great demand
More than 50% of the posted jobs are addressed to entry-level candidates (0-2 years of experience). Mid-level candidates (2-5 years of experience) are also wanted in large numbers. Next come those who have no experience at all, while, for summer jobs, the fewest options are for seniors with more than 5 years of experience and for managers, the recruitment platform data shows.
“If we strictly refer to the jobs for those without higher education, namely those on iajob.ro, the distribution looks like this: 37% are for qualified workers, 33% for high school graduates and 24% for unqualified workers”, added Roxana Drăghici.
According to the analysis, the most offers are for Bucharest, Brasov, Ilfov, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara, Constanta and Ploiesti.
Salaries on sight
A distinctive element of this season is the higher degree of salary transparency compared to previous years. Almost 45% of the total number of jobs posted on eJobs have the salary displayed, while on iajob.ro, the percentage increases to 80%. Exclusively in the case of seasonal jobs, the percentage of jobs with the published salary is 50%.
“And the candidates are prepared for the peak of activity in the sectors that grow in the warm season. The number of applications in the last month is approaching the threshold of 1.1 million, most of them being directed to the announcements in retail, services, finance – banking, construction, call-center / BPO, food industry / HoReCa and tourism. A good part of the candidates take advantage of the increase in the volume of activity in the fields that are influenced, but their option is still going towards full-time jobs for an indefinite period and less for part-time and seasonal jobs, although, unlike last year, the number of applications for part-time positions increased by 32%”, explained Roxana Drăghici.
According to Salario data, the eJobs brand salary comparator, the average net salaries for the sectors that are preparing to expand their teams during the summer are 4,500 lei for the food industry/HoReCa and tourism, 4,000 lei for retail and 6,000 lei for construction.
At the moment, 18,000 jobs are available on eJobs.ro and 7,000 on iajob.ro, the job platform launched by eJobs Romania and dedicated to candidates who want to get hired quickly, without going through the traditional steps of a recruitment process, such as creating a CV.
