Sebastian M. with an allegation of causing a fatal accident in 2023

Sebastian M. heard on Tuesday an accusation of causing an accident on the A1 motorway in 2023, in which a family of three died. The man did not confess and explained – informed Izabela Knapik from the District Prosecutor's Office in Katowice.

The suspect was brought to Poland from the United Arab Emirates on Monday, to which he fled after the accident. On Tuesday, he was brought to the prosecutor's office in Katowice, where he was charged with art. 177 parish 2 of the Penal Code, so causing a fatal accident. He faces up to 8 years in prison.

Temporary detention is used to suspect Sebastian M.. Therefore, today the prosecutor will immediately submit to the court in Piotrków to maintain this measure to Sebastian M. – prosecutor Izabela Knapik from the District Prosecutor's Office in Katowice said on Tuesday.

She emphasized that further actions in this matter would depend on the suspect's attitude.

The accident at A1 occurred in September 2023 in Sierosław near Piotrków Trybunalski. Parents and their five -year -old son died in the car; Sebastian M.

After the accident, the man escaped from Europe. At the behest of the then prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobra, a arrest warrant was issued behind him. M. was also wanted on the basis of the red note Interpol.

He was found in the United Arab Emirates. As part of the extradition procedure, the Polish prosecutor's office requested Sebastian M. to be issued to Poland. On May 15, the ZEA authorities agreed to his extradition, and on May 26 a cruise plane escaped by the police to Poland. (PAP)
